We enjoy seeing the world through the eyes of a baby. The grandfather rolling on the floor laughing with a baby is enjoying the freedom of being childlike, leaving the adult world of stressful demands for a short vacation into the innocence of childhood.    We want to be childlike and feel free. Babies connect physically, emotionally, mentally and in the realm of the spirit they connect with our deeper yearning, to escape the boundaries of self through laughter.

Although babies demand endless tedious work, often pushing the tolerance of the human psyche to the limit, there is an upside.  Babies are funny.  In the midst of dirty diapers, baby bottles and sleep deprivation, babies can make us laugh with total abandon, forgetting all the hardships of child-rearing by giving a small window in time to peek through and see our world through the eyes of innocence

“Taat, tat, tat, taaat, tat, tat, tat…taaaaaatttttt!!!”

He says, “I have a headache….aarrgggh!!!” Isn’t he cute? My little baby Martian…hmmm.

Babies Appear Innocent

The biggest factor in the humor is apparent innocence.  Research has shown that babies are almost 100% totally self-centered and totally aware of the impact of their actions.  Babies get angry, demanding, and aggressive if they do not get what they want.  Behind every innocent-looking baby is a 2-foot-tall Roger Dangerfield.

Funny babies poop, pee, puk, pass gas and we roar with laughter. If an adult did it we would be offended. Yet a baby make us roar with laugher.

Anyone would love a baby.

Babies are sweet little creatures who give us joy and laughter no matter how they look. Babies have a peculiar attraction that captivates anyone. Babies may be prim and proper, they may be mischievous and impertinent, but who would not be attached to these little creatures?

We relate to babies.

There is a baby within each of us. Every once in a while we long for that carefree and reckless feeling to frolic around in our birthday suit. No matter how prim and proper we are, we would always, at one moment in our life, wished that we were a baby all over again.

Babies react innocently.

Babies react instantly to any stimulus. The mere tone of the voice would draw laughter or a cry. Babies easily get attached to a person or to a thing. Babies are curious. Babies are just so lovely and bright, and we just love them.

Let us bring out the baby in us. Let us squeal with laughter just like the babies do. We long for that baby in us to be nurtured. We can be innocent like the babies and bring out that part in our hearts that wants to be revealed.

Let us enjoy the funny babies. Let us find comfort and relief from our day pressures. Let us be free and easy like the babies.
